Hadoop and EDW

Use Hadoop in the Enterprise IT Landscape Beside Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)

Hadoop used to provide deeper relationships with external customers providing the enterprise organization with valuable features like recommendations, fraud detection, and social graph analysis. Hadoop is excellent in processing huge data. As result, Hadoop solutions are increasingly encouraged on  the traditional systems that still dominate the enterprise IT landscape. While Hadoop has proven its worth, Hadoop should be deployed alongside existing enterprise IT landscape and within existing workflow, governance structure and process.

Embarking on a complete new Hadoop project in which return on investment may prove difficult to quantify, there is value in identifying a user requirements that Hadoop may demonstrate improved performance than the existing tools. ETL offload from the traditional enterprise data warehouse represents one clear use case in which Hadoop typically delivers quickly and measurable value, persuading the management of their demonstrable value, and laying the ground for more ambitious project to follow.

We take pragmatic steps in introducing Hadoop into any enterprise IT environment. This includes considerations in how to approach use cases for early experimentation and adoption.  Our consultancy service engages with the IT team to help their journey to implement Hadoop in the enterprise environment and then move toward the mainstream of deployments as part of a sustainable enterprise IT stack.
